They challenged themselves to focus on employee and patient engagement activities. This lead to several creative monthly activities that have included building a float for the Shrimp Parade, helping various charities such as stuffing shoe boxes for “Operation Christmas Child”, and involving the community at large. The patients helped with each activity providing them with a greater sense of purpose and a dose of fun. The administrator told us that rehab leadership in this initiative literally changed the culture in the entire building. When this team won our “Team of the Quarter” award our customer went all out. They created a banner that hung in the entry way and recognized the rehab team in the local paper. Customer, employees, facility team members and patients most of all – everyone was a winner here!
